| Richie Pavledis has two tracks on this album,
both taken from his latest CD, "Live At The Charles", which will
also be available on TRUE BLUE
RECORDS (along with his first two albums -
"Long Distance Dream" and "Minstrel"). Richie is
one of the most respected Blues performers in West Australia and is always in
demand due to his abilities as a percussionist, drummer, vocalist and harp
player. Stingray, now with a permanent keyboard player/vocalist, provide a couple of tracks from the band's last offering "Ghosts in the Attic". Originally performing heavy Texas-style Blues, Hamish Jacobsen and the band now play a fine mix of styles, including many of their own superb compositions. Indigo Duck bring you their two tracks from "Double Duck" which will be a melding and a reissue of their first two records which were released a few years ago. With the unmistakeable vocals of Jeff Harrison out front of Indigo Duck, these guys always provide a great live music experience each time they take the stage. Man About A Dog are a Mandurah based band who have a CD out, "Mandurah Boogie" from which their contributions are taken. Good driving Blues is the staple from MAAD, resurrecting some great Blues standards, and injecting some of their own tunes as well. Fremantle is the home of Mike De Velta, and tracks from "Norfolk Lane" and the recently released "On a Backdrop of Silence" CDs are included here. Regularly accompanied by Jean Guy Lemire on harmonica, Mike brings the feel of the street Bluesmen of Chicago or the Delta regions of the US to mind when he plays. With John Meyer's pedigree it is surprising that this is his first solo album to be released in many years, a self-titled one with his current band "John Meyer's Blues Express". Having been the lead guitarist with bands such as Saracen, Chain and Rose Tatoo, John now inhabits the Scarborough area of Perth and enjoys playing with the new line-up. Blue Shaddy are a Perth powerhouse, and TRUE BLUE RECORDS are pleased to include tracks from their first and third CDs "Blue Shaddy" and "Walk a Mile". Playing nearly all original tracks, this family-based band always have a strong following wherever they play. Belly on harp is a constant drawcard, Jim's guitar work astounds, Sandy drives the rhythms with strong bass riffs, and Arun brings power and subtlety to the percussion and drums. |
